5 Project Management The Project is governed by an Executive Council to ensure that Project results are achieved for maximum impact at the lowest cost. This Executive Council consists of the Directors of the National Geoscience agencies from which an Executive Secretary is chosen, and also includes the Project leaders and/or coordinators from each participating country. Each member country is allowed to vote except Canada, which participates as a non-voting member. Furthermore, a Technical Advisor helps in the formulation of the activities for each of the countries. Each country submits its desired activities to the Executive Council for discussion and approval. The individual work of each country will be reviewed on a biannual basis at the Executive Council meeting, while the Project as a whole will move forward in an iterative fashion, responsive to institutional changes.
