This web page presents the original Concept Paper for the project "Geoscience for Andean Communities". This project was approved in principle by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) in 2000 hence the second phases of development proceeded. After this second development phase, an Implementation Report (pdf 1.7MB) was drafted and signed by all participants. The Implementation Report gives the goals, outcomes, and basic activities of MAP:GAC and should be read by those interested in the project. The Concept Paper is dated and provided for archival purposes.
